Overview

The recent decision by a federal court, setting aside a $480,000,000 judgment entered against a client prior to Fletcher Farley’s being retained to rescue the client from the judgment, is only one of the latest examples of Lorin’s commitment to the firm’s clients.  Lorin has been providing the same level of detail, commitment, and success to his clients since becoming an attorney 30 years ago.

Recognized as an AV (Preeminent) rated attorney by Martindale Hubbell, Lorin has represented parties on both sides of the docket, though primarily, and for the past 15 years exclusively, as a defense attorney.  This includes representation not only in personal injury matters, but also in commercial litigation cases including directly representing Fortune 500 companies like Bank of America and Xerox Corporation.  In doing so, he has represented clients in state and federal courts not only in Texas, but in his home state of Michigan (where he still maintains his license), Delaware, California, Iowa, Florida, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, Washington, New Jersey, and Missouri.

Though Lorin has practiced as a trial lawyer for most of his career, his practice is now focused on providing assistance to litigation attorneys as an appellate and briefing attorney.  In addition to briefing and presenting arguments in all 14 Texas Courts of Appeals as well as the Texas Supreme Court and Court of Criminal Appeals, Lorin has argued appeals before the U. S. Fifth and Eighth Courts of Appeals and the New Jersey Supreme Court and Court of Appeals. In 2016 his commitment to the practice of appellate law led to his being recognized by D Magazine as one of the preeminent appellate attorneys in Dallas.

Lorin shares his passion in the law with his passion in baking where he has won ribbons at the State Fair of Texas for his breadmaking prowess.  He shares his breadmaking duties with his sous-chefs, Bob and Sheldon; two 180 lb. Irish Wolfhounds who “help” by cleaning the floors of the scraps that fall their way.  He shares the results of their baking with his wife of over 33 years and their three daughters as well as his test-kitchen a/k/a Fletcher Farley’s staff.
