Overview
For almost 40 years, Lorin Subar has represented parties on both sides of the docket in a wide range of personal injury, product liability, and commercial litigation matters. His commercial litigation experience includes directly representing Fortune 500 companies such as Bank of America and Xerox Corporation. Over the course of his career, Lorin has represented clients in state and federal courts throughout Texas and throughout the country, including California, Delaware, Florida, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Missouri, Montana, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Washington, Wisconsin, and his home state of Michigan where he still maintains his license. Most recently he has become licensed to practice before the United States Supreme Court and the courts in Colorado.
Although Lorin practiced as a trial lawyer for most of his career, his practice now focuses on assisting litigation attorneys as an appellate and briefing attorney. He has briefed and presented arguments before 14 Texas Courts of Appeals, the Texas Supreme Court, and the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. He has also briefed and argued appeals before the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Fifth and Eighth Circuits, as well as the New Jersey Court of Appeals and Supreme Court and, most recently, the U.S. Supreme Court. Having spent most of his career in the courtroom, Lorin brings a trial lawyer's perspective to his appellate work, with an emphasis on practical, persuasive advocacy and helping trial counsel navigate the appellate process.
Outside the practice of law, Lorin's interests are less adversarial. He is an avid baker whose breadmaking prowess has earned him ribbons at the State Fair of Texas. He enjoys sharing the results with his wife of more than 42 years and with his "test kitchen" – also known as the Fletcher Farley staff.
