Victoria I. Shillow

Victoria Shillow focuses her practice on insurance defense, premises liability, and general civil litigation. She represents clients through all stages of litigation, with experience in motion practice, mediation, and pretrial strategy.

She approaches each matter with a practical, results-driven mindset, recognizing that efficient and effective resolution is critical in high-volume litigation. She has experience managing substantial caseloads with extensive intrastate travel, and has mediated approximately 50 cases with largely favorable outcomes. Her experience includes drafting dispositive motions, including motions for new trial and responses to motions for summary judgment, as well as negotiating with opposing counsel and pro se litigants. She has also successfully argued cases on de novo appeal. She works closely with clients and witnesses to develop strategies tailored to each case.

Before entering private practice, Victoria gained experience in both government and corporate legal environments. As a law clerk with the Louisiana Department of Transportation, she worked within the Office of General Counsel, where she conducted legal research, drafted pleadings and contracts, and contributed to the development of administrative rules and public records procedures. She also served as a legal consultant supporting subpoena compliance matters for a major technology company, providing her with insight into large-scale legal operations and regulatory processes.

Victoria earned her law degree from Southern University Law Center, where she served as a Student Attorney in the Juvenile Law Clinic. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology/Criminology and Political Science from Louisiana State University.

She is also a published author in the Louisiana Bar Journal, co-authoring “When Custom Collides with the Rule of Law.”
