Overview
Vernon Elkins currently defends individuals and companies involved in personal injury litigation including cases involving construction defects, motor vehicle accidents, commercial vehicle accidents, and premises liability.
He has practiced on both the plaintiff’s and defense’s side of litigation. His experience as a plaintiff’s attorney consisted of personal injury litigation in Texas State and Federal Court representing plaintiffs in jury trials in civil cases, giving him valuable insight into the plaintiff’s perspective.
Before moving to Texas, Vernon lived in Chicago and practiced aviation and aerospace litigation (defense). He has extensive experience representing foreign and domestic commercial air carriers and component part manufacturers in civil litigation arising out of catastrophic losses and personal injury matters. His practice largely consisted of litigation of complex Aviation, Antitrust, and Excess Insurance matters often touching international concerns requiring the application of public and private international law.
Vernon is originally from the great state of Michigan (go blue!). He is a huge football fan, especially of his alma mater – the University of Michigan. He has lived in Houston and Austin and loves to cook and BBQ in his spare time. He absolutely loves playing golf, traveling, and is always looking to try a new restaurant or find an interesting place for cocktails.
